If you are a complete Beginner you will need to join one of our Beginners Sessions. Where you will learn the INWA 10 steps of Nordic Walking.
Our Nordic Walking Beginners Workshops are a fun session which lasts 90 mins. During these sessions, you will learn the 10 steps of Nordic Walking. You won't need anything as such for this course as poles are provided. Just turn up in clothing to suit the weather, we recommend trainers rather than walking boots but not essential at this stage.
It is very helpful to arrive 15 mins before the start of the Session as this gives us time to talk to you about any issues you may have and also provide you with the correct length poles for the session.
This session includes your own straps to keep for use during this session and on following Nordic Walking sessions when you use our hire poles (Covid safe)

Begin to learn the 10 steps of Nordic Walking
A little Nordic Walking to practice what you have been learning and time to talk and ask questions.
Introduction to the second part of the 10 steps of Nordic Walking including drills to help with technique.
During the session, your Instructor will also give you information about the different Nordic Walks that we offer, how to book them, how our Booking System works as well as information about the benefits available to you as a Walk Kernow Member.
There is plenty of time to ask questions during the session and also after over coffee. If there is anything worrying you about starting to Nordic Walk with us please do get in touch and don't forget you don't need to be fit to Nordic Walk.
NB Although we do not cancel for wet weather for our Nordic Walks, our Beginners Kickstart Workshops are postponed for very wet/windy weather and also session 1 of our Beginners Courses as it makes it very hard to teach and very uncomfortable for you. You will be contacted by phone as soon as possible for any postponement.
