Day 1

We warm up on the town green in The Lizard Village to start the day. As we set off, we take the Victorian Excursion path down to the Coast Path. You'll be welcomed with the most breathtaking views as we get closer to the coast, and they won't stop throughout the day. We will walk to Kynance Cove, also known as the Caribbean of Cornwall, this morning. Keep a watch out for Cornish Heath, which is unique to the Lizard, and if we're lucky, we could even see a few Cornish Choughs! We will have lunch at the Polpeor Cafe, which is set on the cliffs next to Lizard Point, to cap off this morning's beautiful walk.

After a delicious lunch, we walk past the National Trust's iconic Lizard Lighthouse and wave to the coastguard as we pass their lookout. Walking along the coast path, we get to see quiet little coves and beaches that are less visited by tourists. We'll also pass by the Housel Bay Hotel, where Marconi stayed while looking for a suitable location for wireless marine communications. We enjoy far-reaching views of Dodman Point while listening to the sound of the waves. We return to Lizard village for a cool down and possibly a drink at the Top House Inn to round off the day.

Day 2

Another wonderful day awaits you. Today we'll begin in the small fishing village of Coverack. Warming up with a view of the small port before heading north east out of the village. Local to the Lizard is a stone called Serpentine, which is used to make ornaments. It is green, grey, and black, and it is easily identified because it is usually smooth and shiny since it is a soft stone. We start looking for seals as the path evens out after a little up and down; we always see seals on this walk because they have a small colony here.  Going inland, we stop for a true Cornish treat, Roskilly's Ice Cream, before returning to the Village for lunch at the Paris Hotel, which is perched on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the sea.

In the afternoon, we take the path behind our lunch stop and climb, climb, climb for spectacular views of Coverack, so bring your camera/phone. We have a lovely little treat on this walk, but I'm going to keep it a secret because it was a pleasant surprise when I first discovered it, and I think you'll enjoy it as well. This afternoon walk, like all of the walks over the weekend, is a circular walk. We end the day in the Village with a cool down and a farewell, until next time...
